OpenStats

How It Works

OpenStats makes it easy to create surveys, collect responses, and view real-time statistics—all in a few simple steps.

For Survey Creators

1. Create Your Survey

Choose from multiple question types: single choice, multiple choice, or star ratings. Add follow-up questions that appear only when specific answers are selected—perfect for branching surveys.

2. Customize the Look

Pick from 24 theme colors, add images to make your survey visually appealing, and write a description to give context to your questions.

3. Publish & Share

Once published, share your survey link anywhere—WhatsApp, social media, email. Your survey gets a clean, shareable page with proper link previews.

For Survey Participants

1. View Current Results

Before contributing, see what others have answered. Results are displayed in real-time with percentages and vote counts.

2. Answer Questions One by One

Experience a smooth, Typeform-style interface where you answer one question at a time. Questions slide in smoothly, and you only see follow-up questions relevant to your answers.

3. Confirm Your Location

Select your country, city, or town (automatically detected) to help provide geographic context to the statistics.

4. Submit & See Updated Results

After submitting, instantly see the updated statistics with your contribution included. Results update in real-time for everyone viewing the survey.

Behind the Scenes

Duplicate Prevention

To ensure fair results, we check three things before accepting a vote: browser fingerprint, session ID, and IP address. If you've already voted, you'll see the results instead of the survey form. This prevents spam and duplicate voting while keeping the process simple.

Data Storage

All your answers are stored together as a single submission in our secure database. We keep your location, timestamps, and the identifiers mentioned above—but no personal information like names or emails.

Results Calculation

For main questions, we show percentages and vote counts. For follow-up questions (which only appear based on specific answers), we show just vote counts since they represent a subset of participants. All statistics are calculated in real-time from aggregated data.

Privacy-Focused

We collect only what's needed for accurate statistics and fraud prevention. No personal identifiable information is required to participate. Individual responses are never shown publicly—only aggregated results.
